6/9 Film Club: Alex Gibney on "The Crime of the Century"

For our film club on Wednesday 6/9 at 8pm ET (5pm PT), we will be joined by Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney to discuss his new two-part HBO documentary series The Crime of the Century, which details the political operatives and corporations behind the U.S. opioid epidemic. Read The Daily Poster's coverage of the opioid crisis here and here.

HOW TO WATCH THE FILM: We will not be watching the documentary during the live chat — we will be discussing it. Please watch the two-part film beforehand to prepare. If you are an HBO subscriber, you can stream it here with your subscription. If you do not have an HBO subscription, click here for details on how to get a free 7-day trial to watch it. If you cannot stream the movie, we'd still like you to participate - so for some background, read some detailed reporting on the opioid crisis in The Washington Post, The New Yorker, ProPublica, or in the new book Empire Of Pain.

Like all our live chats, the event is exclusively for Daily Poster supporting subscribers. Subscribe here.
